Fusion-welding for highest strength

Great Lakes windows are entirely fusion welded - both sashes and mainframes use this advanced manufacturing method. Unlike windows that use staples, screws, or caulk to hold their frames together, Great Lakes welds vinyl sections together to create a solid one-piece unit that won't loosen or weaken over the years. This combined with our unique "pinch" welding method, ensures window construction that's strong, precise and attractive.

 

New GenerationTM Vinyl for maintenance freedom

Every Great Lakes window is constructed of rugged, maintenance-free vinyl. Great Lakes New Generation Vinyl windows will never stick like wood or metal windows because they don't swell or deteriorate from corrosion, pitting or rot. Wash them with soap and water and they'll look great year after year.

Built tight to keep air out

Air infiltration is a major cause of energy loss. Great Lakes sashes are double weatherstripped and double-hung and sliding windows feature full meeting rail interlocks. This method of construction creates a double barrier to air and water.

  R-Core Insulation for high thermal performance

Great Lakes windows are bad conductors of heat... and that's good! They virtually eliminate frost or condensation on the the inside of window frames. This means no more stained paint or drapes.

 

InterceptTM glass system - a major advantage  

All insulating glass will save energy. Intercept Glass has the edge, however. This technologically-advanced insulated glass spacer system utilizes a unique U-shaped channel to separate glass panes and interrupt the natural flow of heat to cold. It also reduces the chill that can occur around the glass perimeter that may cause condensation and puddling. Intercept Glass is standard on most products.
